Row 3 : P2, *k2tog but do not slip off needle, then insert right-hand needle between these 2 sts. and knit the 1st st. again, slipping both sts. off needle tog., p2; rep from * to end.
Row 4 : as 2nd row
Rep these 4 rows twice more
Next Row : (RS) P2, * k2, p2; rep from* to end.
Row 2 : K2, *p2, k2; rep from to end.

3rd row : k
4th row : k3, p4, k3
5th row : k3, C4B, k3.
6th row : k3, p4, k3.
Rep these 6 rows til measures about 30"
This length is long enough but not to long, when tied pulls in bag alittle.
Make 4 Pompoms attach to ends of. (Mine are about 1" pompoms)
Finishing Bag
If you choose to line bag, do so after all other pieces have been attached.
With wrong sides of bag facing each other, sew bottom of bag, then the sides up to the top of ribbing.
Attach handles, one on each side, button evenly spaced on top of where you attach the handles.
Attach small knitted pieces about 3" from side and 1" down from handle.
Pull Cable through loops and tie on one side.
